USCG CAPTAINS LICENSE COURSES

Our US Coast Guard Captain's License program teaches a full compliment of Captain's courses including: OUPV (Six-Pak), Master's license from 25 to 200 GT, and Able-Seaman. Confident Captain/Ocean Pros is the ONLY Captain's License school that operates full-time in Rhode Island!

To become a great captain you not only need plenty of experience on the water, you need a great instructor for your Captain's Course. At Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, we provide the finest instruction for the finest mariners! When you enroll in one of our Captain's courses your instructor will be with you EVERY step of the way making sure that you get the most out of your experience with us! All of our instructors are seasoned professional mariners with vast experience on all types of vessels. We believe that in order to get the most out of your Captain's course you need exposure to the unique skill and experience level that is possessed by a professional mariner. Many recreational boaters make fine instructors but nothing compares to the experience you will receive by learning from a PRO!

YACHTMASTER CERTIFICATION

We are pleased to offer Yachtmaster training programs and certifications to fulfill the needs of the international yachting community. Our Yachtmaster Training facility is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Newport and is accessible by foot, tender, or launch. Our Yachtmaster Training is at the commercial level and is approved in over 20 countries worldwide including the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States.

STCW-95 CERTIFICATION

This course is instructed in compliance with STCW-95 Code A – VI/1-2 and provides trainees with instruction in personal sea survival, marine fire fighting, first aid & cpr, and personal safety and social responsibilities.  This 5-day course provides a variety of practical and theoretical lessons fundamental to onboard safety.

CONFIDENT CAPTAIN HANDS-ON TRAINING

Our "Confident Captain" Hands-on boater instruction program consists of a seasoned, professional mariner coming aboard your boat in the New England area to teach you how to "Handle Your Boat Like the PROs".

Confident Captain provides the most comprehensive hands-on training a recreational boater can receive. A Confident Captain client will have a professional and seasoned Captain come aboard their boat and teach them how to handle it HANDS-ON! We understand the importance of being safe and confident while enjoying your boat with friends and family. Our experienced hands-on instructors are known as the best at helping you achieve the level of safety and confidence you need to fully enjoy your boat.
